Does a higher RTP mean I will win?
No. A higher RTP means the game retains less of turnover in the long run, so the expected cost of a given amount of staking is lower. It says nothing about the outcome of any session, which is governed by variance.
Can a machine become “due” after a long losing run?
No, provided the rounds are independent. Independent rounds have no memory, so a losing run does not increase the chance of a win. The published odds are unchanged by anything that came before.
What exactly is the difference between RTP and volatility?
RTP is where results centre over an enormous number of rounds; volatility is how far single results scatter around that centre. Two games can share an RTP and differ greatly in volatility, and therefore feel completely different to play.
Is a 96% RTP bad?
It is not a verdict on a game so much as a statement about cost. A 96% RTP implies a 4% edge, so the expected cost is four units per hundred units staked. Whether that is acceptable is a personal judgement about the session, not a fact about the game.
